The 13th edition of the show, to be held in Hong Kong from 25 ‒ 28 October 2018, is jointly organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), and co-organised by the Environment Bureau of the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The 2018 edition of the show is expected to feature about 330 exhibitors from 19 countries and regions and welcome more than 14,000 visitors from around the world.

Eco Expo Asia is an environmental trade platform that welcomes a number of different industries to showcase their environmental products and solutions. This year’s expo will debut the “Smart Construction for Quiet” pavilion, organised by the Hong Kong Institute for Acoustics (HKIOA) and the Hong Kong Construction Association (HKCA). The 126 sqm booth will feature green building products and solutions for noise-related construction issues, a key concern for many rapidly developing cities and regions in Asia. Among the highlights of the showcased products will be two sets of hybrid construction excavators from the renowned Japanese manufacturer KOBELCO. The excavators produce low-carbon emissions, little noise and demonstrate a more environmentally friendly solution for the construction and other industries.

In addition to the pavilion the “Smart Construction for Quiet” symposium will be held on the first day of the fair. The symposium provides a unique opportunity for acoustic professionals, noise control practitioners, architects, site engineers, and building and civil contractors to learn about the latest policies and best practices in tackling construction noise issues. The full-day symposium will gather international experts and industry leaders to deliver a comprehensive programme of talks and panel discussions. Further details and registration guidelines of the symposium can be found here.

Overseas pavilions and group participations bolster the expo’s international appeal
Each year Eco Expo Asia welcomes overseas pavilions and group participations from around the world. This year will see the largest ever Chinese Pavilion, with the debut of exhibitors from Hunan and Inner Mongolia as well as from a number of cities in the Greater Bay Area. In addition, the lineup of returning pavilions and group participations includes Austria, Canada, State of Bavaria, Europe, Japan, Korea and Switzerland, allowing buyers to gather market intelligence by exploring green products and solutions from around the world.

Commenting on the return of the Switzerland Pavilion, preparing for its sixth participation at the fair, Mr Urs Heutschi, CEO of Swissenviro, said: “Eco Expo Asia is a well-organised international trade fair in an important environmental market, covering relevant and current environmental issues with a strong focus on sustainability. As the organiser of the Swiss pavilion it is a pleasure to return and work. Each year there is a high demand from Swiss companies who wish to participate at the expo due to its regional location as well as the number of quality visitors from South China and Southeast Asia.

Of the companies that will be exhibiting at the Switzerland pavilion this year, SID SA, manufacturer of machinery for waste treatment, will return for the sixth time. Smixin will present its water and soap saving handwashing system and technology while Associated Environmental Systems Limited will showcase its air quality optimisation solutions.  A new exhibitor, Brugg Pipesystems, will showcase flexible and rigid pipe systems that help to reduce energy loss and increase efficiency.

As a leading trade fair in Asia for environmental protection, a wide range of environmental product categories will be featured at the show, including Green Buildings and Energy Efficiency, Green Transportation, and Water Treatment and Quality Management. The Startup Zone will also return after its successful debut last year. Its aim is to encourage green startups to explore more business opportunities and connect with investors at the show.

Eco Expo Asia will be held from 25 ‒ 28 October 2018 at AsiaWorld-Expo. For more information, please email [email protected] or [email protected], or visit www.ecoexpoasia.com.
